Was this book written for me? I feel like you have looked into my life, almost like peeking through a window. Finally clear words describing what I am seeing, feeling, and experiencing. This book is clearly showing me that I am not alone.
The chapters on Leviathan and The Escape Plan were powerful! I love how you lay everything out so that people can see that they are not crazy, and how they can do what they can, when they can. Keep helping us heal!
In the Recovery Timeline chapter, I like that, even after 36 months, you mentioned the occasional triggers or difficult days that may still come. I think that will be encouraging and freeing to women, because so often we don't allow ourselves to fully grieve if even for a moment.
There's a lot of education happening in these chapters. I would encourage women to use a journal to capture the terms and ideas that really resonate with them, especially in chapters 1-5 where there is a lot of psychological research.
I'm amazed at the level of research that's here to understand the mind of the narcissist as well as the spiritual aspect.
This book is a needed guide to help alot of women cope and then free themselves from this situation.
One thing I’m enjoying most is that there is no fluff, name-calling, attempts to paint yourself in a particular light, or steer anyone into hating men. It’s a high road without being self-sacrificial yet again. It’s the bigger person without letting the Cat off the hook.
